The planning begins

First of all, I should say that I am extremely lucky to be partnering and working with these very talented and very close friends of mine on this project. Kaan is not only an excellent designer/chef/event organizer/entrepreneur, but also was one of the first people to introduce me to this country and showed me the real way to live here. We met in 2001, and have been dreaming ever since about running our own restaurant or venue. Ahu is a star architect/designer and also the wife of Sinan, who was really the first person I met in Turkey back in Summer 2001. Some shots of the interior before we did anything to it. Of course, the camera doesn't show the space accurately. It is about 75 meters square and there is a long wide hallway that connects the rooms on the top with the rooms on the bottom. There is also a large rooftop with an incredible view (photos to come) and the location can't be beat!
